Plant Description and Operating Era

The Newark OH plant is a long-running Owens-Corning Fiberglas manufacturing site producing fiberglass building insulation, industrial insulation, and reinforcement products. Newark also functioned as a Midwest Kaylo shipping and warehousing hub during the asbestos-Kaylo era, moving finished asbestos-cement pipe insulation from the Kaylo production plants (Fostoria OH, Berlin NJ, Sayreville NJ, Millport AL) into industrial and commercial construction distribution channels through the alleged 1972 asbestos phase-out.

  • Asbestos-fabric expansion joints on Fiberglas process piping
