The Barberton Ohio Works has served as Babcock & Wilcox’s corporate headquarters and principal boiler manufacturing complex since 1904, when the company relocated its main fabrication operations from New Jersey to a large greenfield site in Summit County. Through the twentieth century, the Barberton campus produced watertube utility boilers, marine boilers, package boilers, and pressure-vessel components for U.S. and export markets, and grew into one of the largest boiler-fabrication complexes in the world at its mid-century peak.
